Adventure Growing
up
in
a
small
town,

summer
seemed

adventure

houses.

water
bottles,

compass,

our

The

by
our
excitement
and

snap
of
a
branch. At

upon
an

abandoned
treehouse.
After
making
sure
it
was
safe,
we
climbed
up
the
rickety
wooden
ladder
to
explore.
From
the
top,
we
had
an
amazing
view
of
the
surrounding
woods
and
the
nearby
lake.
We
spent
some
time
up
there,
feeling
like
princesses
in
our
castle. As
the
day
wore
on,
we
realized
we
had
gone
much
farther
than
we
intended.
We
consulted
our
trusty
compass,
only
to
discover
that
we
had
gotten
turned
around
and
lost.
Panic
set
in
as
we
realized
we
had
no
idea
how
to
get
back
home.
We
began
to
retrace
our
steps,
but
everything
looked
the
same.
It
was
starting
to
get
dark
and
we
were
getting
scared. Just
as
we
were
about
to
give
up
hope,
we
heard
the
comforting
sound
of
my
mom's
voice
calling
out
our
names.
We
had
been
so
lost
that
our
parents
had
come
looking
for
us.
We
collapsed
in
tears
of
relief
and
hugged
our
parents
tightly. That
day
remains
a
treasured
memory
for
me.
It
taught
me
that
